St. Patty's Day in the ADK ~ Adirondack Four Wheeling Experience

Updated: Mar 24

What's happening in the SW Lake George area?

March 9th-10th, 16th-17th and 23rd-24th, 2024

March is the month to visit the maple farms and support our local farmers!

Our maple farms in this area include Hidden Hollow Maple, Valley Road Maple,  Mud Street Maple, Candy Mountain Maple, and our favorite sweet maple neighbor Toad Hill Maple!

It's not too late to experience the sweet maple! The ADK Retreat is still open for the weekend of March 22nd.

How did Gene & Shae play in the ADK this week? Adirondack Four Wheeling Experience!

We took a weeknight away from the itty-bitty homestead to go four-wheelin' up one of our great mountains. We escaped with our young neighbors the BeeGees (who probably didn't ache at all after the excursion).

ADK Four-Wheeling Fun

It had been nearly four decades since I had ridden a four-wheeler and I have to admit it was fun! (Despite my bruised backside and aching lower back.)

It was a muddy, slushy, bouncy, messy, glorious time. It seemed like we were not going to make it to the top before sunset.

Adirondacks close to sunset. The sun sits low in the sky peaking through the trees.

We passed a logging area. Thank you local loggers for replanting as you log!

Adirondack mud on a toothy smile.
Mud much?

As we drove through the mud I remembered quickly why you are not supposed to smile while four-wheeling.

The journey was worth it when we reached the top! What a great Adirondack four-wheeling experience. Having fun in our fifties!

Thank you to my Gene for forcing me to stop working so that we could experience...

Gene overlooks a glorious view of the mountains.
We were on top of the world!

The Adirondack Retreat ~ Creature Series

Shae is learning how to create better pictures of her ADK creations, but did not want to wait to release the latest ADK creature series scent for women and men to enjoy!

In this ADK creature series, we will share our Adirondack creature sightings over the years. Writing these memories down brought back so many beautiful and emotional memories. Thank you for sharing these with us.

"We pulled the Harley over by Tupper Lake to watch a rare Adirondack Moose take a dip in the cool water. I remember the smell of my leather jacket, as I fumbled in the pocket to grab a picture."

The Adirondack Moose can be spotted at dawn and dusk. The most common sightings are known to be near Saranac Lake, Tupper Lake, and in general driving on Route 3 from Saranac Lake to Plattsburgh.
